Should boot snap On the Plug./4.6 bucking.?

Hey guys, not exactly a mustang, but i got 95 thunderbird 4.6l 2v and alittle while back i changed my plugs, the wires and ignition coil packs are in great shape...they are stock 8mm motorcraft wires. The plugs in there where motorcraft platinum, which where slightly brownish..normal wear pretty much. I put in autolite platinum plugs, cause i want them to last (stock was motorcraft plat's)... Now when i installed the plugs w/anti sieze and gapped to .054 (stock) i noticed that each boot simply slips onto the plug. IS IT supposed to snap on, to ensure a tight fit..? The boots coming off just slipped off also.

I'm asking this cause i get a hesitation/buck when the car is floored..it happens for a split second and goes away-alittle when the engine is warm. THIS happened after changing the plugs. The maf sensor is new, everything else double checked.

The fuel filter was changed a week ago, so that's not the problem. I used to put Chevron with Techron alot, like once every oil change......for the past 6 months i didn't put that stuff in, maybe it's the injectors..?

Thanks man..yeah i left it pretty much the way they where on the stock plugs, just slip on.

I'm gonna change back to motorcraft and make the connection tight..and use the de grease.
