when my car was a aode i had 3.90's in it and i had a girlfriend that lived 50 miles away...now my new girlfriend lives up the street but i sold my 3.90's to get 3.55's. well now that im a 5 speed i was wondering how different it would feel to have 3.90's? are they more for a auto or should i invest in them again? i can install them so labor isnt a problem, does anybody have them? how much different do they feel on a 5 speed? are they bad on the highway? gtr high performance told me to stick with the 3.55's because i wouldnt like the way the 3.90's felt

If you want more than 3.55's and aren't sure if you wanna go up to 3.90's, then go 3.73, it's a happy medium

idk man I think it would be about the difference from stock to 3.73s and that is what I have and they are really sweet...if unsure go with 373s cause they are probably the best for 5 speed although it may not make much of a difference going from 355 but I went from 308 and almost crapped myself..

I don't think it is worth it IMHO. If you are alrady at 3.55's you will get only a 10% increase in RPM. For the $150ish $$ to buy gears I would say spend it elsewhere. that is about a third of the way to a new intake.

If you were running 3.08's or maybe even 3.23's then it would be more worthwhile.

It would be kinda like goin from 373's to 410's.

3.90-3.55=.35
4.10-3.73=.37

Pretty dadgum close!

As there are countless "which gear" threads you won't have to search too hard to find those who went from 373's to 410's say it was a big difference.

Just think about it ...... thats a good bit over 1/4 of a turn difference.

Now is it worth the money like Chris pointed out ...... Only you can say.
