do it. on the hwy, you can usually get about 25mpg. your results may vary with the autobahn, but it wil be much more fun than the tundra!

At 60 I get over 30 mpg and at 75 I still get about 26, I'd say do it.

Make sure you compare like with like. I'm in the UK and people confuse the computer readout with reality - 20 US mpg is about 24 European mpg. To be frank, the Mustang is easily as economical as a Subaru WRX or a Focus ST and I've seen over 30mpg on the trip computer (more often 20-24 US mpg).

So go and buy one.

No! Get a GT500! I get 24mpg on the highway. Its no 30, but then if I only went 60mph in 6th I might get close? Still not bad for a 500hp monster. And I'd LOVE to take mine on the autobahn.

Ironically I'm in a similar predicament. I have a mid-size Tundra now and find it difficult to do everything I want to do with a truck without it being full size. I've been looking at the new Tundra and LOVE it as a truck. However, I will always and forever be in love with the Mustang and can only afford one vehicle at the time. So, it's either go with the more expensive, less fuel efficient, but REALLY REALLY versatile and useful utilitarian Tundra, or get my Dream Machine and get better MPG for less money but be outta luck when it comes to all the useful and convienient things I'm used to on a truck. Still haven't figured it out in over 4 years. I'll be waiting till I get back from Iraq regardless of what I pick. By then, maybe the Boss will be out and I won't have any trouble any more!!!
