Should I install the transgo in a 2001?

I was planning on installing a torque converter, transmission cooler and shift kit in my car on Sat. and was looking for some install directions when I noticed people saying that a Transgo shift kit will have problems with 99 and newer AODE's.
Is this true?
If so, is the jerry mod safe?

I have a TransGo and love it, been going almost 2 years strong...the past year on spray.

That said, if I could do it over again I'd do the Jmod. It's cheaper (free) and guaranteed not to hurt the tranny.

Whichever you choose just definitely get a transmission cooler.

Goodluck with it.

Uh... what's the jerrymod?

I got a 2k Auto GT. Not sure if it's 4r70w or aode, though... (haven't checked)

Yours is a 4R70W.

The Jerry Mod is about as safe as you can get considering its coming from the guy who pretty much designed the tranny.

Dang it.
So should I do the transgo? I already bought it.
I was planning on putting it in tommarow, and I need to know soon if I should put it in or wait and do the jmod later.
Also, does the transmission need to be removed to do the j-mod?

I'd return the transgo.

The tranny does not have to be removed. It's only one step further than changing your trans filter. You only have to remove the valve body.

www.tccoa.com , go to the articles section.

I put the TRANSGO in my 01 GT about 3 weeks ago, the installation was very easy. However, I cannot notice a night/day difference unless I drive aggressively. I would probably do the "JERRY MOD" and save yourself $125.00. :nice:
