Well, my SVT Focus was just broadsided yesterday. I'm thinking the insurance company is gonna total it.

I've been wanting to sell my 35th A.E. Mustang GT for some time, but haven't really pursued the issue 100%---I'm kinda wishy-washy on wether or not to let it go.

I've invested over $70,000 on the car, and although it's everything I've always wanted, maybe it's time to just get one car and start over. Insurance on 2 cars really sucks here in Colorado.

My current modifications are as follows:
Engine Mods:
Forged 4.6 SOHC w/new block-
Diamond Dished Pistons-
Manley 4340 H-Beam Rods-
Cobra Crank-
High Volume Oil Pump-
ProCharger D1SC Stage II with 3-core intercooler-
12-lb pulley-
FMS 42# Fuel Injectors-
Stage II Ported Heads-
Ported Bullitt Intake-
Custom Crane Cams-

Superchager Necessities:
2003 Cobra Fuel Tank-
Custom tuned JMS chip-
Univer MAF-
AutoMeter Boost and Electric Fuel Pressure Gauges-

Other "Go Fast Goodies":
FMS 3.73 Gears-
Tremec T-56 6-Speed Transmission-
Steeda Tri-Ax Short Throw Shifter-
Custom Driveshaft and Loop-
BBK Long Tube Headers-
BBK Off-Road H-Pipe

Suspension Mods:
FMS 'C' Springs-
Auburn Pro Posi-
Strange Engineering 31-Spline SS Axles-
Steeda Front Sway Bar-
Steeda Adjustable Rear Sway Bar-
Tokico HP Shocks and Struts-
SCR Subframe Connectors-

Other Appearance Mods:
ATS Sequential Tail lights-
Mach 1 Chin Spoiler-
20% window tint-
Aluminum Bumper Inserts-
SRP Door Sill Plates and Pedals-
Aluminum Dash Trim Kit-
MGW Limited Interior Parts-

Stereo Stuff-
Pioneer DEH P940MP MP3 Player-
2 Alpine 10" Type R Subs-
Alpine MRF 340 Amp-
Alpine MRD 500 Amp-
2 Sets of Boston Rally Series Seperates-

Brake Mods:
Baer Brakes 13" Track Kit

I've also recently purchased some XTC smoked tail lights, 2k1+ smoked headlights, a new hood, new rear trunk, bumper, wing, (cosmetic body damage) hood struts, (I've always hated that hood prop) and the car's going to be re-tuned with a different pulley and some other motor stuff. I've got it listed on a few websites, (this one included) as well as the Ford and Mustang Trader. The info is here:

There are alot of pix at http://tommy303.stangnet.com

Do you think that I'm asking way too much for it? If so, what's fair in this day and age?

i agree man that car is badass, not to mention there is always rich kids with lots of cash willing to spend alot on cars... start high and drop it lower lata.

but as stated, if its everything you ever wanted why would you sell it? i would definately take that car man its SWEET.

i see you said 399hp b4 the engine blew what does it have now? if you DID spend 70 grand on the car i would expect ALOT more power than that... and 70k is ALOT of money man... JMO

Tommy.....I'm sory to hear about the Focus and the subsequent situation with the Stang. I don't know if you remember me...I'm Nate and I met you eith Colorado Stangs at Sonic a few times. I've got a Mineral Grey '02 GT. Anyone who is looking at this car to buy....look hard! I took a ride in it one evening and it run like a champ and that was before the motor blew. I can only imagine what Tommy has forged it with. He is a good guy who took care of the car and the last time I saw it...it looked amazing. I hope everything works out for you Tommy! Drop me a message sometime if you want to!

Unfortunately the $70,000 is NOT a typo. Unless you don't consider that the car cost me $24k to begin with. Those mods also include labor and other stuff like repairing windshields, (twice now) and body parts, (cosmetic stuff---I wanna keep it looking brand new, but drive it daily when it's nice out).

If I had to guess on the price of the parts alone, I'm sure it'd be around $25-30k in parts. The built motor and stuff cost me $13k alone last year and I only have about 3000 miles on it all.

I'd rather get one car instead of two now. Since the SVTF is probably gonna be totalled, it's an opportunity to pay off a bunch of debts and start over again. I don't know what I'd buy next, however.

93civ: The last dyno was 436 RWHP and 444 RWTQ, but that was on the old tuning. Since that tuning, the motor's been built, heads have been ported, new Bullitt intake, (ported as well) cams, 2k3 Cobra tank and pumps, and I've upgraded to a D1SC from the P1SC.

Nate: I DO remember you, thanx for the kind words. If the car doesn't sell, you'll be seeing me around alot this summer. Are you going up to Steamboat for the Roundup?

You'd be insane to sell it. You'd be losing a fortune, and a car you love. Buy a cheap POS beater!!! It would be crazy to sell a sweet ride like that, that you have put so much time into, and start all over. Youll end up spending even more modding whatever your next project is. I say HELL NO to selling, and can you please post some pics of the beast?

I wouldn't sell the car either, you have too much in it and you'll NEVER get that money back out of it now so you might as well keep it and enjoy it. As nice as the car is I personally wouldn't pay that much for it, I would rather spend a little more and go buy a brand new Cobra instead. Not too many people are willing to pay $29k for a used/abused car even if you did baby it.

Hey Tommy what about the 05

I know your into supra's and that import scene so I was wondering if you were lookin at that 05 Stang commin out. I to own a 35th LE and I'm also in love with it but the time has come to order the 05 next month. I advertised my car at a few local shows and now have an aggreement to sell to a gentelmen in June for 25K. I didn't drop nearly as much cash as you but from what I see some 35th anniversary owners have gotten 25k and some settle for 15k I think it matters on how you market the car and where you advertise.
I reccomend you keep the price at 29k and market the hell out of it!

I agree- Although 29K is a fair price for your machine, I really doubt you will sell it for that. 23K ish is a more likely pricing point. But why loose all that money? Use the insurance money to buy a beater, something to piddle around with. Dont sell that thing man.

If your heart is set on selling it, at least take the mods off and sell em individually. You'll get a great deal more money in the long run for it.
