Just wondering what your guys opinions would be ive heard yes and no for several different reasons i have edelbrock heads cam and intake with a cobra tk0600, the car isnt daily driven just my toy i drive a few days a week sometimes to a town about 30 miles away, just curious how much i may gain in the quarter, or on the street, i plan to supercharge it someday in the future and heard 410s would be to low with forced induction

If you are going boost, I would personally stay with the 3.55 gear.

I agree with this.^^ I've got 3.73s in my fox and it zips through the gears so quick I can absolutely see going to 3.55's when I boost it.

EDIT:

I did have an 84 GT that I put 4.10's in and it was a blast to drive in town, but oh did it suck on the highway. Driving to the next town 10 miles away made me want to pull my hair out.

I've had 4.10s and 3.73s as well as the good old 2.73s. The 4.10s are a blast to drive if you don't mind shifting a ton. The mileage sucks and the rpms cruising honestly aren't bad. If you truly plan to boost the car in the near future, I'd stay 3.55s. Now if you plan to boost in the next 2-7 years like most guys, by all means throw the 4.10s in, it's not like they're perminant.

Yeah, I was an 8"/9" guy when I got into the cyber-world and came up with my alias.
The 8.8" is growing on me though, just like the Fox/SN95 cars.

I have 3:55s in my car and my shift light is on at the end of the 1/4 at 6200 28in tires. Not super high rpm but up there. like some one else said if youre not gonna fi for a few years and dont mind slightly less mpg do it.

Well I put them in my car wow what a difference! ty thing is the rear end has a whine/deep purr when going over 10 and at certain rpms it doesn't do it. My guess is its shimmed too tight?

Wow, that was fast.
I thought for sure you were set on the 3.55s.

The whining is not good from a practical standpoint, but a noisy gear is not always bad either.
The important thing is that the bearings are loaded correctly and a proper break-in is done.
Noise is unfortunate, but once all problems are ruled out, it's just what it is.
