I'm about to have my gears and the new girdle installed, I was just wondering if I should have the shop put friction modifier in the rear end, and if so, how much? Thanks.

Unless you are using a synthetic gear oil like Redline or Royal purple you absolutely need it...It takes a 4oz bottle of it then top the rest of the rearend off with gear oil...

You need it unless you go with snythetic oil, which has it added already. You will be able to smell it a mile away in whatever auto shop you go to.

Absolutley agree with the above posts...........make sure you add the modifier, and or go the synthetic route.

See my website below - I did test several synthetic lubes with and w/o friction mod.... the only thing I can't attest to still is Redline's gear lube w/o friction mod, but I've "heard" it works fine.

but yes - use friction mod, 4 oz, no matter what the gear lube mfg. tells you - just to be safe. It won't hurt a thing.
