If your numbers are down due to a heat soaked motor, then it is not your heat exchanger. It is your intercooler. You will need to upgrade your intercooler. You will gain about 25-40rwhp with this mod. Joe at Chicane Motorsports make the upgraded IC. Because the stock Saleen IC sits down inside the intake, alot of hot air goes around it thus pulling timming. Joe's IC fills and seals all of the avenues that hot air can get into the motor and forces all the air THROUGH the IC instead of around it. No additional tune check required. There is also a writeup about this at the Performance Motor Sports web site in the customer's ride section. Oh and by the way, on the PMS site they call the IC a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger sits in front of the radiator, and the IC sits under our blower.

You also might want to get the new pully upgrade that keeps the Saleen SC belt from deflecting and causing your belt to slip on the SC pully. Buy adding this upgrade you might get another 25 or so rwhp. You WILL need to check your tune once you get this upgrade. This is about $180.00 from MoSaleen at www.SaleenPower.com

Good luck

a heatsoaked engine is never good. A cooler motor, is a safe motor and a better performing engine. A good port job with the intercooler and the proper supporting fuel system/mods should put you in the 400rwhp range.

Honestly, if you put a Kenne Belle on that is bigger then the 1.6L blower, your motor will not last very long. Build your short block first, then add a 2.2L blower.

Another option for a heat soaked motor is add the Snow Meth Kit. With the controller you can limit when meth is added in your boost cycle. Normally 4 lbs will activite it, till a set value like 7 lbs will have it fully engaged. Check out Snow Performance website and click on the forum section. There is alot of good info and Tech their. I added it to my car.
