+1 with the others saying to "pass".

Keep looking. Unless you need some hard parts for another project.

What is the difference between something that's cheap verses something that's a good VALUE? You could easily spend several times more for a better "project" car and get a much better value for the $$ spent.

If the goal is to get it running, then finding replacement interior parts will eat you alive. Not to mention the interior is a biology experiment on wheels. Are you any good with electrical trouble shooting? If you bought that car you may have to get very good at electrical trouble shooting. Remember that electricity and water don't play well together. From the looks of it, there's plenty of water to go around.

I have seen working examples on Craigslist of V6 Mustangs for less than $1500. Spend just a little more to put your project on a solid foundation. A don't be too afraid of high mileage. My 2000 GT is closing in on 250k miles. If you are looking for a "project car" then you shouldn't be afraid to fix things. Use the high mileage as a bargaining club.

A case could be made that particular example is not a good "project car" even if it were free. Think of it like if someone gave you a pregnant cat. :)

There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey.
