Should the A/C be turned off with the car?

I have a hard time following this story. I can't understand how the ac unit could have anything to do with starting a fire.

His stereo system shorted out and caused a fire in the engine bay. Truck started and the A/C blew the fire from the engine into the truck. I don't know the details but it burned the truck.

I got you the blower motor pushed the fire in. that could have happened just by leaving the heater on high as well. yeah I remeber those highschool wiring jobs. thats one off those time when your like "why didn't I put a cirucit breaker in the line"

The temp controller bothers me the most because it won't got 100% vertical! It eithers one click to the left or right!

I know what u mean, I'm a freak about stuff like that. I wasn't in teh military though, I blame it on my Dad he's an engineer and totally anal about EVERYTHING.

I turn everything off and move all knobs back to matching or nominal positions, but that's cause I have OCD. :bang:

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I blame mine on the military. The temp controller bothers me the most because it won't got 100% vertical! It eithers one click to the left or right!

Turn off the AC but leave the vent open. I always do this and my car has never smelled. Our other Mustang that my wife and daughter drives smells at times because one or both forget to turn the ac off before they turn off the car. P...U....
