EDIT:

Here's a couple of pictures of my "new" daily driver. It's my '89 LX 5.0/5-speed/3.73's. On the interior pic, I've since replaced the seat belt sleeves and the buttons on the passenger side armrest and that returned the interior to mint spec's.

what does that do for a car? I read that its part of the cooling system, does it by chance have anything to do with magnetism like the name suggest? google wasnt exactly very forthcoming.

I would assume it has something to do with the fact that its a legit 93 cobra R...


only thing i can think of is that its an oil cooler??


To reduce operating temperatures and increase durability at race speeds the "R" was also equipped with a larger capacity radiator and oil cooler.

found it. also spelled degas, it is used to burp or remove air from the cooling system. sounds like a fancy word for overflow.
