Went to put in some wiper fluid and noticed that my serp belt is getting shredded by the alternator. None of the pulleys seem loose. Anything obvious that I need to check? As an fyi, I replaced this belt a year ago during the 60k service and the old belt was not chewed up. Thanks.
Did you check your harmonic balancer, looks like from the middle pic your harmonic balancer is separating. It should all be flush, your outer ring is sticking pass the inner mount which would tear up your belt. If your harmonic balancer separates it can do alot of damage.
I just took another look at the pic, 3rd 1 down, and you need a new harmonic balancer asap man. I can see them separating, it's throwing your belt out of alignment. Your harmonic balancer is tearing it up the belt not the alternator.
