you should be able take a flat head screw driver or a pair of needle nose pliers and reach the mechanism. just pull or push on the lever that the cable hooks to

You don't need anything other than just your fingers. If this is your first time, lay under the front of the car and look up. You'll be able to see the latch mechanism. On the driver's side you will see a tab with a little hole in it where the cable attaches (or would attach). Just pull that towards the driver's side and it will pop your hood. After you do it a couple times you can do it without getting under the car at all and impress all your friends!

Adam, so you can do it w/o laying under the car? i have never done it, but had thought of deleting the release (in my vert). i was gonna put an electric popper on it, but if i could just finesse it w/o getting dirty, i would do that (saves runnin a servo and cable for the servo when the battery dies too).

My orange car didn't have the release cable in it, so I got pretty good with just kneeling down in front of the car and reaching up underneath. I suppose it really depends on how long your arms are, but I'm about 6'1", so if you're close you can probably do it just the same.

Adam, cool thanks. i could not imagine a way to get at it w/o reaching under the car, but thought i was missing something.

thanks again. - now i know for when the cable decides to break.

You still have to reach under the car -- but you don't have to crawl underneath. Don't want any confusion on that...

sorry Adam - i was ambiguous. you were clear about needing to reach up from underneath. i wrote that idea off for me - my arms arent 3 feet long. LOL.
so back to the drawing board for me (im lazy so i might hide a cable somewhere and a trunk popper).
thanks again for the info!
