You also have to take into consideration what engine mods the car has, as well as how the sound is being recorded. Some camcorders are going to over glorify the sound of a car or just the opposite, make it sound like less than it really does. I like to record sound clips in car wash stalls because they give some acoustics to the sound. Without that the sound just travels away from the camera.
Think of it like a symphony in one of those concert halls playing in a wide open field instead of the concert hall....make sense?
From the video's and sound clips I've heard an o/r X with Spintech's sounds dirty. I have an o/r H with Magnaflows which are a bit more tame but really open up when you get on it.
Ive got flowtech long tubes a 2 1/4" X pipe and 40s got lots of complements, but the headers are falling apart now, going with bbk long tubes, H pipe and 40 dumped 2 1/2, hope i like how it sounds.
Here's a video I took a couple weeks ago of my supercharged 90 GT at idle and up to 3200rpms: Mods: Vortech V-2, TrickFlows heads, cam, intake, Bassini Shorty headers, MAC catted-h pipe and MAC catback.....Oh I can't stand the MAC catback, it didn't sound right when the car was stock and I hate it even more now with the mods I have.
I have 1 5/8" Long Tubes, 2 1/2" VRS O/R X, and 2 1/2" Spintechs, soon to be going out 3" Flowmaster tails! From what I heard before ripping it apart, the exhaust should sound pretty mean!
