side exit exhaust

i bought the svo/borla side exit kit, and i went to install just the cat-back without the the svo skirts. when i put it on the tips are touching my stock side skirts. is this goin to be a problem? i was thinking of putting some like muffler tape or something on the bottom of the skirt above the exhaust tips. any advice?

Are you going to use the stock skirts or the SVO skirts? I would get a shop to properly adjust it. It shouldnt be touching anything.

i am going to just keep the stock skirts on. i took the rubber hanger that was used on the back near the tailpipes, and stuck that on there, because it is longer then the one that came with the side exit, but that was tooo big and the tips hung down too low. how close do you think i can get it to the skirts and still be safe? i really like how it looks when it is touching the skirts, so i want it as tight as possible.

I heard a few people say that they had to take that kit to a shop and get it bent a little to fit properly.

Get the spintech kit. You'll love the sound more then borla IMO. Search around, pics are around here somewhere.

I would give it at least 5/8" space if it were me. why arent u using the svo skirts?

i'm not using the skirts currently because they are red, and so i will prolly put them on in the spring some time when i paint them. and i kind of like it without the skirts so i am not in a huge rush.

Looks awesome! That setup looks a lot cleaner without the bulky SVO scoops.

I have to disagree. Heres a couple pics of my car. the first is when i hit something on the freeway and it ripped my sidekisrt off. Granted, its not the same as having the stock side skirt, but i think it looks much cleaner w/ the svo side skirts.
