Signs of bad harmonic balancer?

What are the signs of a bad harmonic balancer? When I look at mine it doesn't look like it's going in a perfect circle. It also makes a knocking noise at idle that goes away if i rev it. I can feel the knock if I put my hand on the engine. I was thinking this is the harmonic balancer. ANyone agree?

If its wabbling its bad.

I figured it would be since I used a 3 jaw puller to take it off before I knew that was a no-no.

ouch thats def. a no-no, you'll prolly want to buy a new one....but hey we learn from a mistakes some more costly ($$$) then others

and might as well get a SFI one!

not sure on that last question. EFI 5.0's use a 50 oz imbalance and i think 351's use a 28 oz (DON'T take my word for it!).

if you look at the balancer, the elastomer might be coming out of it - that is a tell tale (to get a new one). wobbling is also a tell tale.

the imbalance is on the flywheel im pretty sure...
