SILENT RECALL ON 03 Cobras???!!!

So I was talking to someone who had one of the first 10 03 Cobras and they were from NJ, but moved to San Antonio. They had 78,550 miles on it because they made trips back and forth. They said at 60,000 miles the left head gasket assembly blew and Ford replaced it. Does anyone have any more info on this?

Supposedly, I heard this from a guy whom designs electrical systems/ ignitions for Ford (and other OEMs) that they had major cooling system issues with the blown Cobras when they first came out and actually halted production on them for something like 6 months in the beginning. There was some kind of problem with cooling/flow to the rear 2 cylenders. I cannot verify this myself, but everything else this fellow has said before and since has held true.

I knew what you meant though. If you aren't on record with Ford with what vehicle(s) you own, you aren't going to get any notification. Unless you go looking, you won't know what recalls are out there.
But, if Ford knows what you have(i.e. you went through Ford Credit to finance) and you find out about a recall without hearing from Ford directly, it would be a good idea to let someone @ Ford know that they didn't inform you!

There was a production halt but I don't remember the reasoning...

There is a company out there who runs a line from the back of the driver-side head to the heater core.

I think the reason is that there is nowhere for the water to go in the back of the driver head and it just sits there and doesn't get replaced with water from the rad. The tube allows the water to flow to the heater core return line just like the passenger-side does..

I think the name of the company is "Apten". Do a search for "Apten cooling mod" on modular depot or corral..
