So after a year of putting up with it I'm getting a bit tired of my g'damn shift knob loosening up on me. I've tried loctight, worked for about 30 minutes. Also do you guys use and washers when you tighten yours down? If I were to tighten mine all the way down the shifter would face between 90º and 180º degrees past where it should making my shift positions look a bit funky.

Any experiance with this?

I have a Tri-ax shifter and this happens with the two different knobs I have.

If its coming loose, tighten up the bolt on the underside of the shifter knob. Thats what holds it on there with pressure. If that doesnt fix it, check your threads to make sure they arent stripped from messing with it.

I had the same issue with my Mach 1 knob on my MGW shifter. It would thread down too far.

What i did was find a bolt the same size as the shifter handle, cut it about 1/2" long, cut a slot and use a screwdriver to screw it in. Takes a little trial and error to get the position and lenght of the insert right, but when it's done it's perfect

I switched to the hurst T-handle, and adjusted it to suit me. Never loosened, and it is easy to "handle".
