Anybody install the Silver Horse Louvers, the flush mount style that replace the factory quarter windows?

I have one important question for those that did this mod. Do you have any trouble with water leakage from rain or washing the car?

I'm interested in adding these to my car but would like to know if there has been any fitment problems or any other issues.

Thanks in Advance.

They seal with the same material used as the factory windows. The only leakage would be from installer error. And they're made of lexan, so they're much tougher than the OEM windows.

I have them and love mine. No leaks or anything. If you are going to install them yourself, I would advise on having some help from a friend that knows something about bodyshop work unless you do. The factory windows are a pain to cut out and are very resistant to hammers! I am not kidding on that one. Me and a buddy cut out the first one, and I decided to knock out the second one. Taped it up w/some duct tape and after 30-35 swings with a 20oz. ballpeen it finally broke.

ummm

I put mine in 2 weeks ago and am kinda upset. I've never done anything like that before and thought i could "man up" and do it myself. WRONG They're in, you don't hear air at 130, BUT there is water on the inside after a wash. I'm taking the blame for this one.

HOWEVER kinda gonna flame silver horse here. Great product but 7 weeks?!! I saw the 2-3 week wait on painted parts and was like cool, whatever. 6 weeks later after I remembered OH yeah back in APRIL I ordered some parts. Called them up and they were here 8 days later.

If you order from them CALL CALL CALL don't be patient unless you like being walked on.

for future questions and searches, i will post this information in this thread. it is about the paint prep of the silver horse louvers.

i email them and asked specifically about the paint prep for the louvers, here is their response:

Masks are included but not on the part, so you have to put them in place. Other than that, yes, it is pretty much prep and shoot, wash them first. We normally do black primer, followed by color, followed by clear. Do not paint the backside of the piece, and then from the inside of the car looking out, you will see black from the primer on the other side.

hope that may help out anyone in the future that searches for this information.
