Silverstar Fogs burned out AGAIN! What other white fog light bulbs are there??

I lost my 2nd Silverstar fog light today in 2 months. This is getting rediculous. First the left one burned out and it took me two weeks to get a replacment. Then 2 weeks later the other one goes.

So now i have one silverstar, 1 stock bulb and 2 buster silverstars that i'm gonna send back to sylvania for either a new pair or a refund.

I would put the stockers back in except i have Silverstar 9007 headlights and the stock fogs just don't match. They are yellow.

I would LOVE to go HID using the MeccaTune kit for the head and foglights, but $600 for lights is a little uncalled for right now.

So what other bulbs out there will give me a nice bright white light without exceeding the 37.5 watt rating??

I bought a set of 899/893 fogs when they first came out like a year ago. They blew in a month or so. I called Sylvania and they said it was a manufacturing defect. They said they'd have it fixed in 6 weeks and could sent me a replacement or refund my money (since I bought it online through them). I said I'd wait the 6 weeks... I called back in 7 weeks, they said they were still having problems, it'd be another 6 weeks. I said I'd take a refund and I'd order again later maybe.

I guess they haven't fixed those problems yet? The customer service people were VERY helpful though. And the fogs were very nice until they blew.

I'm gonna call em up and see what they can do for me. I'll take a new pair of bulbs, but i think i'm gonna get HID's instead. I know it's expensive, but i really like the style and looks. Maybe i'll just do HID foglights for now.

I've been running PIAA headlight bulbs for several years now but I didnt think they made a fog light bulb that will fit a Mustang

I'm using an Eaglite (893) bulb and they are a pretty good match colorwise for the PIAA headlights.

my friend had bad experiences with PIAA 9007 headlights. blew like 3 or 4 times in 2 months. Expensive as crap too!!!

every company is going to have problems in manufacturing from time to time ... try the regular sylvania fog light bulbs I think the 50 watt number im running is a 885 versus the stock 37.5 watt ones ... the 50 watt ones will be ALMOST not exactly as bright but pretty close and an added plus is they are ALOT cheaper .....thats what I am running silverstars up top and 50 replacement fogs ..... good luck ....

I just got an 02 GT and want to run PIAA's on it and cannot find a listing for the 899 fog lights, from I have seen on this thread the 893 may work? If so I will be ordering them today if those will work..

Xenon super white headlight bulbs! I've had my set for a entire
year and still no problems or bulbs burning out!

Showoff krypton bulbs are great. They are white w/ just a hint of blue. When parked next to my mom's navi there is no difference. They last well too. My bro has had a set for 3 years and I just blew mine when I hit a deer. I will order anohter set tho.

I had a problem with the stock headlights blowing and it was only when it rained and water got inside so I used white lithium grease and put it around the base of the light where it seals off in the opening. I haven't had a problem since!

what you using for the fogs?? The price is not bad at all on those headlight bulbs. $29 for the pair. did you notice an increase in visibility at night?

You may have already done this but if not:
1. make sure you don't use your skin to touch the bulb part, oil can cause them to pop.
2. Make sure you clean all the residue from inside the fog lights(left over broken glass from prior bulbs, etc)

I did the above and my regular replacement sylvania/ge bulbs stopped blowing up.
