Since I'm spending money... what air compressor and tools to buy?

a lot of the MAC, MATCO and Snap-On are made by Ingersol Rand. i know my 1000ft-lb MATCO 1/2 gun is a IR. i think you can get it as a relabeled crafstman model.

So... don't get the "oil-free" ones... At least 33 gallon and at least 6 hp... All I'm seeing is "oil-free" ones. Anyone want to provide a link to a good one that is $500 or less? (Compressor only)

Oil free compressors are OK - just don't abuse it. If you're doing something that is consumming air so fast that the compressor never shuts off, then you are going to damage it. It'll get too hot and eventually do damage. All you have to do it let it rest. 5minutes on , 5minutes off. They'll lst forever.

I've got a Cratsman 33 gallon vertical model. Works great. As said above IR tools are the best. They're tougher than any other tools that I've seen.

Oh - the current line of Craftsman compressors are built by Devilbiss.

I have been using a craftsman 15 gallon, but I've gotten tired of waiting for it to refill whenever I have to use my tools for more than 10 seconds at a time. So, I bought a craftsman 30 gallon on sale, much higher capacity, charges fast, great compressor.

Agreed - that's my only issue with my 15 gal model. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the bigger one.

I just bought the crapsman 33 gal 6 hp. They have a deal right now where you get $100 in free tools (impact, ratchet, air hammer, line, and some fittings) when you buy it.
$329 for everything. Good enough deal for me to get off of my wallet.

We got one of those last time they had that deal.

We have to put a 30 amp breaker for that compressor, it draws SO much power.

I got news for you pal. All of our Mustangs have some parts on them that AREN'T made in the US.
