Single chamber flowmasters

Has any one heard them or have them?


The 2 chamber 40's are a little to quiet for me. And when it comes down to putting the exaust back on the car im thinking of maybe going with the single's

But then again i have cut outs...and can just open them out when i go to the track or want to be loud lol


Do the single chambers still have the flowmaster sound to them?

yeah, they still sound like flowmasters, but somehow louder, lol. If you're not partial to the flowmaster sound, check out dynomax race bullets, or magnaflow's round straight thru mufflers.

They are WAY loud! If you like flows & loud exhaust, which IMO is a good thing, then you'll love the single chamber!

Allright cool... i think they will end up in place of the dual chambers when the time comes


Well.....lets put it this way......

I drove around with my cut outs open for a month and i didnt think it was too loud hahahahaha.....well....after a month i kind of did, and when i closed them up and had the exhaust going through the flows i thought the car was quiet as hell lol

But open cut outs have no TONE to them like flows do

i drove around with flow 40's dumped out the muffler and it was great. for 6 months then it was loud where i didn't want it lol. put it to the back of the car and it's quiet... least i don't have people wearing ear plugs when i drive *shrug* they said it was really loud... i must have more hearing loss than i thought!! get a recording of how the 1 chambers sound!

Thats sorta what i was thinking too...


Maybe ill just save the money and buy the electronic adapters so i can open them with a switch

If you want a qulaity muffler that has a straight through design and in my opinion are the baddest ass sounding muffler on the market, get Borla XR1 race mufflers.

They are healthy at idle and just plain mean at WOT. I run hooker super comps with 3" collectors into 3" pipes that go into a Dr. Gas 3" to 2.5" tapered X pipe, back through 2.5" pipes to the 2.5" XR1's dumped in front of the axle. I haven't found a mild to wild built small block Ford (or Chevy) that sounds any better than my car.......... And I am not predjudice because it is my car.....really it sounds that good. I get tons of people complementing me on the sound. It has a lower tone than my flow 40's at idle and is louder at WOT (my old set up had a shop fabbed X on it though and it was all 2.5")

PS - They are not street legal but who cares....

What do you mean by taperd X pipe?

Should i get an X pipe with the new setup?

Also..the motor will probably be an agressive heads cam/ spreayed 408....should i go 3 inch all the way back?

I have a 1 chamber on my ranger with a dump after it and it makes my little 3.0 sound like it's something else. I want to do the 1 chambers on mine but I can't figure out a way to exit the exhaust out the back how I want it.

-My Dr. Gas X-Pipe has 3" inlet and 2.5" outlet

-I don't have any sound clips or pics of the exhaust set up but I may be able to do that for you this weekend, I am out of town right now.

-3" all the way is your call, for me I did the 3" to the X and then 2.5" behind that to get me a little bit of back pressure and still have that deep 3" sound.

-I am a strong believer in the Xpipe for both functional and sound reasons. I would do it as it sounds cool wide open.

-I'm telling you that the car sounds amazing at idle and wide open throttle, you will not be dissapointed. I have Borla exhaust on my F150 SuperCrew as well and although it is not as loud as alot of other rigs, it has a better sound. I would probably put it on my wife's V-8 Volvo if they made a kit

That is what I have in 2.5" to 2.5". They are a really nice looking muffler as well.....

Sweet man....ill ask around on the local boards here in tampa and see if anyone has them on so i can hear them....ive been a flowmaster sound guy for a loooooong time...but if these sound as good as you say they do i wont mind trying something new..
