could it be the tps??? car misses and slightly bucks with light pedal acceleration at these rpms, but if it's WOT there is no miss....i was also thinking incorrect spark plug gapping of the autolites....???? any ideas? thanks in advance
Could be either of those things. But when my TPS failed it did what you are describing it had one certain RPM that is would buck violently then if I gave it more or less gas it smoothed right out. Best thing is to pull the codes if it is the TPS is should show up that is how I found mine.
well if it's a 5spd mine used to do the same thing, i replaced every single sensor know to man on it and it still does it. it just didn't like low RPM with the clutch out.
or stick a VOM on the signal and ground wires of the TPS and see what you are reading at throttle 'tip in'. look for a clean sweep with no breaks or dead spots.
is the idle set up per spec (did you run through the setting procedure?).
idles nicely at 750 rpms. when i was getting it inspected at a friends shop, he said looks like i need a new tps based on the miss on the dyno running. Just figured i would run it by you guys since i'm an electrical/sensor idiot.

someone seeing it first hand in a shop would likely know better than us. if you read what i posted above, you can check the TPS firsthand, and if it tests poorly, you can feel good about getting a new one.
