I never experience this when I had my 06, have you tried a higher grade of fuel to see if that fixed the situation? Shouldn't be having a problem without any mods though
Completely stock it is almost impossible to detonate, however if I'm not mistaken there is a TSB on the fuel pump. Apparently at high RPM it tends to build up little air bubbles in the line and they can cause the detonation. I'ld have that checked out first.
