Slight vibration after new trans mount

I bought a prothane transmission mount and i noticed once i drove it around that anything above 2000rpm there is a slight vibration (nothing MAJOR)

i read around and its a pioneer balancer thats fairly new so i doubt that its that... and it has nothing to do with speed so i dont think its the driveshaft, and the u joints are maybe 2 months old

and vibrations didnt start till i did the mount

i have a trickflow HCI kit

think its just normal since the poly isnt as soft as the rubber?

if you took the drive shaft off when you installed the new mount, the DS may have rotated and thus being out of rotation, or it could be the bushins.

its definetly normal to get that vibration after putting in the prothane tranny mount, i got the same vibration after doing mine.

poly mounts always increase vibrations/road noise a little bit over stock rubber pieces

Unlike foxes, the 94-95's seem to be real finicky about poly mounts for some people (I researched it a bit before buying mine).

Does the trans sit higher than it used to? Could it be a DS/pinion angle issue? It has been for some but I cant remember if the issue was exacerbated for the Tremec crowd (with them being finicky about centerlining).

i agree w/ JT--i changed mine out last weekend and had some vibrations due to an incorrect part. went back and did it over and the vibrations are gone--the difference in height between the two was about an inch, so i'm guessing that raised the angle, thus the vibration.

well the only reason i dotn think thats my problem is because i dont have to be moving, its just after 2000 rpm or so...(and like i said its a pretty new balancer, and it doesnt do anything diffrent if i move, as in it doesnt get worse or anything like that) i dont really think its a problem cause its minor

maybe?

I have the same symptoms after I changed all three mounts the motor and trans its there but according to the manufacture its because they are stiffer since the material is less flexible dus less power loss due to the motor flexing with the rubber mounts.

A year ago I ended up doing 2 clutch installs on my car and the first time I put on the prothane trans mount. I have the same vibration that comes in around 2000k rpms and it's while I'm stationary so speed has nothing to do with my problem either. I thought it was something I did wrong with my clutch but the 2nd time around I did everything perfect, plus I put on a new harmonic balancer. So now that I seen this thread it makes sense that it would be the Trans Mount, I just never thought of it until now. I remember I had to drill/ream the holes out for mine even more to make it work. And one side I had to ream out a lot more than the other. I didn't even have a real purpose in swapping the mounts, I just figured I'd replace it while I was there. Sucks, because I threw my rubber one out, I think i'll get another one now.

well mines real minor, doesnt bother me much at all....i suppose if i had time motor mounts probably wouldnt be a bad idea?
