I know this usually spells the end of the transmission, but is there any way to tighten up a slipping transmission?

I think I read that in the old C4s or something, you can tighten a bolt on the outside that will tighten the internal belts. Can we do that, or are we going to have to buy a new transmission?

I got two words for ya, t-5 swap. I think as far as fixing this one goes though, you are going to have to pull it apart and tighten up all those bands or get it completely rebuilt. Hopefully for you somebody will prove me wrong though.

The car is getting sold soon, I just need a temporary fix if available. By the way, it's an 89 LX auto, silver hatchback. Has a FMS 3 core aluminum radiator and weld wheels. It's in Morristown Tn (near Knoxville) and we'll probably sell it for 1200-1500. Drop me a PM if anyone is interested.
