Looking into getting a set of L/T Headers, either SLP or Hooker. Anyone know the HP differences between the two? Or if the SLP L/Ts need to be removed for transmission work?

Thanks

my Jet Hots are made my Hooker, and I wouldn't buy them again. They have a section of the pipes in the primaries that slip together, that causes exhaust leaks. I have a very annoying exhaust leak that is very common w/ Hookers. Not real loud but still annoying.
I don't know anything about the SLP's.

I hear the SLP's are pretty good, and get good gains with them.

go with SLPs better quality..also whatever set of LTs you get you won't notice a big difference between each other..maybe 2HP at most..
full SLP exhaust is getting +33rwhp on a stock GT.

Thanks for the input, just called SLP and the guy I spoke with said "probably so".... on having to remove the header for transmission work. Not exactly a sure answer, anyone have any first hand experience or knowledge ? Thanks

Definately, i was hoping that there wouldnt be any problems with the hookers cause they are the only ones that you dont have to take off to put in a clutch, so I guessill just have to do that along with the headers...oh well, thanks for the info.

I've heard a lot of good things about the BBK LTs. I wanted Hookers myself (hey, what red-blooded American guy wouldn't?), but it sounds like they may be trouble. That's a shame...I always just wanted to say, "Yeah, I just got a set of Hookers installed."

I have hookers and they work fine. Ive had NO leaks and the quality is awsome IMO. Also if i ever have to drop the tranny I don't have to mess with the headers and anyone that has installed a set of headers on a 4.6 knows that it is a PITA. I love my hooker headers!

I got the slp headers and the quality is top notch. Install is a pain but which long tubes aren't. And yes u will have to remove one of the headers to do trans work.

koos long tubes are also very good quality but also pricy but you dont not have to remove to get to the tranny.

A friend of mine has Hookers on his 11 sec mach1 and he loves them but I'm going with SLP so I can use the same SLP mod x-pipe I have now when they release the new headers for the 4v.

I called SLP and asked if the header needs to be removed for transimssion work and he said "I suppose it would, but I am not sure" They put out great numbers though!
