Hey guys, I had a Mac o/r Prochamber for my Stang, and my dad had a BBK o/r X for his Mach 1. He put his BBK on and he thought it was too loud for him.

So I told him he could have my o/r Prochamber and Ill just take the BBK and sell it or put it on.

So I was thinking about just putting it on with my SLP LM 1's. Im assuming their going to be rediculously loud. Ive listened to some youtube clips but the camera distorts the sound. And I want the Stang to have a tone not just raspy loudness. So do you think if I switched to the LM 2's or Power-Flo Mufflers Id be okay? Thanks guys - Shaun

SLP Loudmouths will be LOUD with the X...

LM2's sound way quieter....honestly, LM2's sound as loud as a Reg.Magnaflow Catback..

Powerflos are even quieter, they sound WEAK.

I have the SLP LM1's and their catted X. I think it sounds great. It's not that
loud just idling, surprisingly. But it does get loud when you stomp it. But to me I like the sound. I don't want to sound like every other Mustang around.

if it were a bbk catted x id tell you to put it on.

bbk o/r x = fail w/ lm1's when trying to get a good tone...frankly...there isnt one. its just noise..and rasp

we're obviously talking about an OFF-ROAD X PIPE here!

as for being unique...

You will have a massive FAIL with an o/r x and SLP LM1s:

YouTube - Really Loud GT

Heed my advice. I purchased a MAC o/r h for my bullitt and ran it with the high flow bullitt mufflers. Sounded good. But I needed something a little louder, something I could scare a few innocent bystanders with. So with my tax return last year I bought the LM1 catback. Needless to say I was NOT prepared for the demon I had unleashed.

I mean, at first it was like 'oh wow this is so baddass'. The idle is great and WOT pulls are great, but inbetween for city driving it just doesn't have a drivable tone. Believe me, you cant get an accurate depiction of what these setups really sound like until you hear them in person. After about a week of driving with the LM1s and getting pulled over a couple of times, it's like 'ok I'm sick of this ****.'

I recommend running a high flow catted pipe with LM 1/2 setup. You won't regret this decision. Running a chambered muffler is COMPLETELY different from running a glasspack-style muffler when you run no cats. It doesn't sound like it would have much of an effect on the exhaust tone conceptually, but it sure as hell does.

I'm changing my SLP system out for flowmasters soon. I really don't like it. If I had the money to spend over again I would have gone with Borla or Magnaflow catback.

Also read the description of the youtube video - the owner has since switched to power flow mufflers and still hates it and I have to agree. Chambered mufflers FTW.

i have the pro-chamber with my LM1s and it sounds badass. It isnt raspy at all and it takes it to a little deeper tone to but it doesnt sound like a regular LM1 with a x pipe. i would go with the pro-chamber IMO

cool thanks for all the advice guys. Me and my dad are completley swapping exhausts.
Right now on his 2003 Mach 1 hes running a Mac o/r prochamber with a magnaflow cb
On my 03 GT Im running an SLP LM1 cb and soon to be BBK o/r x pipe but
Im taking his Magnaflow cb with the BBK o/r X pipe and hes taking the SLP LM 1's with the o/r Prochamber.

I think that will be a lot better. Thanks for the advice guys

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
