I haven't seen too many comments on this exhaust. Anyone have any experience with it? Pros/cons???

Thanks!

Magnaflow lovers say it has too much snap crackle and pop, everyone else just

The quality is top notch and it sounds great, but be warned that it truly is a *Loud*mouth exhaust. (installation is easy as well)

Too much on a daily driving basis??? Will I get sick of it? I listened to a clip of it, but you can only tell so much, and I know no one who has it on their mustang.

Friend has it, its to quiet and doesn't sound like anything mean.

A pro i guess would be, you won't get pulled over for exhaust.

When you're cruising it isnt much louder than idle, when you step on it you'll think the world is coming to an end.

Stallion, do you have the X-Pipe with our w/o cats?

I have the SLP Loudmouth on my 2000 GT Vert. I get lots of compliments. If you like the old muscle car sound or the sound of glass packs, this is the exhaust for you. It is pretty quite at idle but when you open it up, look out.

I was wondering something, most girls do not like LOUD exhausts, so if I am cruising around and shifting at the normal 1700-1800 RPMs, can you hear the exhaust ALOT or is it very minor? Also if I get the ENTIRE deal, LTs and everything but W cats, will I have to buy thse MIL things and will y engine light come on if I dont, and how long do those MILs last? This car IS my daily driver so I really want it pretty quiet when I am cruising...if this is not for me, what exhaust is QUIET but still sounds very mean? Thanks.

Dude.. hear this from 2 days old experience. I was whining and hoping to hear slp in person for some time now.. then it happened. 2 days ago I was cruising around and there it was. A black GT with SLP. There was a truck that passed me first. So I thought heh.. just another 56' chevy farm truck. Then beside it I saw a black mustang passing the truck on the far lane. I was just shocked.. When the dude floors it. I just Some people may like it.. but for me... let's just say I'd take magnaflow or flowmaster over SLP anyday. It was loud though I give it that.. but other than that..

There's a pretty nice clip on mustangexhaust.com that has both the Magnapacks and SLP exhausts on it - they rev one after another. Compared to the Maggie exhaust, the SLP just sounds nasty. Take that as you will - some people prefer the really raw, nasty sound (see my sig for my preference ).

SLP's sound like a tractor or old truck or MUSCLE CAR and they are to free flowing allowing to much horsepower gains. I think you should by aluminized rustmasters because they sound like flowmasters How do you guys know what exhaust a car has on it in the far lane taking off leaving you behind.

I've heard the SLP loudmouth with the SLP O/R x-pipe and it is too loud and sounds nasty as hell just like the Camaros and TA's do. If you like having a headache from driving more than 15 minutes at a time, AND deafening everybody within' a 75ft radius, then by all means buy the setup.

However, this is just my opinion of the setup. Exhaust sounds are all subjective. When you hear a stang that sounds good walk up and ask what they have. It's your car and if you like it then more power to you.

I for one, have the whole package. LT Ceramic headers, offroad (and cats) X pipe, and loudmouth aftercats, ALL FROM SLP.
I cannot tell you how friggin awesome it sounds. I'm running no cats as of now, and it makes your car sound like you have serious cams even when you don't. really powerful, loud, and EVIL. It roars at right under 2,000 RPM, and it SCREAMS like all hell is breaking loose right under 3,000RPM. The loudness to some may annoy, but to me, it is liberating. Nothing like breaking out of somewhere you've been stuck at for too long (school, work, ect.) getting on the road, and letting that exhaust do the talking as you take off.

I like SLP because it IS loud, and it sounds really evil, both qualities i was looking for. Magnapacks would definetly be #2, but SLP is #1 for quality power and sound. Flowmasters dont even compare. Getting rid of my old flows was the best damn thing I ever did. well, that's just my 2 cents.

I had the SLP catted X and Loudmouth cat back combo until very recently. It sounds perfect at the dragstrip or for AutoX events, and it's better than flipping the bird when you're passing some a**hole blocking the left lane on the highway. The Loudmouth also has the nicest tail pipe tips I've ever seen.

However, for me, it was too much for my daily driver, especially after I had the 3.90 rear end ratio installed. I found myself short-shifting all the time to keep the volume down around town. The deal breaker for my was my commute. 50 miles each way at 2500 - 3000 rpm (80-90 mph) was just too much volume.

It comes down to personal taste. If you like it loud all the time, it's perfect. If you're unsure, I would suggest taking a ride with someone who has one.

Oh, and BTW, it sounds way better on a DOHC car. Of course, the DOHC also has the balls to back up the sound...
