SLP Loudmouths In '08 GT/CS

Got the Loudmouths in from Brenspeed on Friday and I put them on the car today. Hardest part of the install was getting the driver side factory muffler out. But, with the WD-40 and some persuasion, it finally came out. Install was easy as pie and the fit was fantastic. Now she really sounds like a beast. Very nice at start up and no droan while cruising around town or on the highway. Hit the gas and it sounds fantastic.

Next on my list is a CAI & tune from Brenspeed, Pypes X-pipe, and a set of lowering springs. As for the springs, I want some that are not going to kill my kidneys during my everyday driving. Any suggestions?

Out in the future mods, super charger.

If you are looking for that old school musclecar sound, a few people have said that that SLPs and the stock H is the closest things. Saying that, I wouldn't get the X-pipe.

Don't do an O/R X pipe ... It'll sound like crap. I'd recommend getting shocks/struts when you do the spring install. Steeda, Eibach, etc all make good springs. I've got the Tokico D-Specs with Steeda Sport Springs and love the ride and stance.

Thanks for the tip on the x-pipe. The springs move up to second on the list.

i have ridden in a couple of lowered mustangs, and i love the steeda ultra lites. i use brenspeed for most of my parts, and these are the ones that they recommended. the ride is not that tough.

Do you need any other parts to lower besides the springs on the s197? Can you just lower all 4 with springs and get an alignment?

I'd recommend shocks and struts and an adj. panhard bar at the bare minimum.

I have had the Roush handling package fittrd on mine about an inch lower and much better cornering .

What about if I just want to lower the rear 1 inch due to clearance issues with my chin spoiler on my driveway?

If you're just doing the Roush rear springs than you'll be fine without the adj. panhard bar, more than likely. Shocks will wear out faster with lowering springs so keep that in mind.
