Do SLP catbacks have anything to do with passing emissions or does it solely depend on the xpipe with the cats? or the pipe with the cats...?

the mufflers/resonators have nothing to do with emissions. its all about your cats.

True.
But, you could still fail the decible test.

Mine never had a problem of passing emissions. I don't think there is a decibel test here that I know of. Now that I have the catted X-pipe
it's even louder. But at idle the SLP is not too loud. But get on it and
it is. I love the sound.

If Legislation in Pennslyvania has their way there will be no cat-backs allowed, see link:

i wouldnt worry too much. they've been trying to pass a bill like that for years in many states, including PA. Michigan just shot a similar bill down. theres a lot of money in aftermarket parts, especially exhaust. its not going anywhere.

+1

Also at least in PA there is no decibel test - thank God for that . I have never heard of that. Now if you get pulled over for excessive noise you can request to have your car tested. I was pulled over a few times in the first couple weeks after the Lts and x went on. Luckily no tickets .
