My car seems to run very choppy and sluggish at low rpm's-1k-18k.. I am wondering what could cause this and why it wants to stall alot at these RPM's and when letting the clutch out sometimes..Also another thing i have noticed..When i let the clutch out in a gear, If i don't ease on the throttle as opposed to full throttle or 1/2 to 3/4 throttle..It just does not run as strong. Its almost like too much fuel too fast is drowning something.

I honestly believe the second symptom i listed isnt a very recognizable or distinct thing to someone else that would just drive my car..But i know my car and i notice it every day.

Thanks..
Kris

Kris, have you yanked codes lately? A leaking EGR, for instance, can cause symptoms like you describe.

I would do that and go from there.

Good luck bud.

you've got a high revving engine there :)
ok, seriously...

i notice the same exact stuff (my car only stalls once in a while when I let off quick though).

have you adjusted your timing, i'm just wondering? i haven't adjusted mine and it seems like a lot of other people do and they don't have this complaint (your second point)

hmm, leaky EGR... i should check that too

Kris, the easiest way to check for a leaking EGR is simply to remove it and clean it out with a bore brush. Then you can try and blow through it - you should not feel air escaping from the outlet side.

If not doing that, make sure that yanking the vac line off the EGR valve doesnt make your idle quality (not RPM!) better. More than that involves checking the EGR seat position vs what the EVR is reading, and that is well beyond what you are lookin for.

It is good to clean the EGR valve occasionally IMHO. It takes 10-15 mins start to finish. Just soak the threads on the feed pipe (the big line going into the bottom of the EGR) with PB blaster before you try and remove it.

My two cents. Good luck Kris.
