ugh..

Is there anyway to make the slushly clutch pedal to stiffen up a bit?

Seems like when I drive the car hard and do a burnout the clutch pedal becomes slushy after. Is it the stock qaudrant that makes the feeling of the pedal so inconsistant? one day the pedal will feel nice and strong and stiffy...then another day it is slushy.........

Assuming you have a hydraulic clutch sounds like you have a bit of air in the line.

Blead the thing and all should be fine... may want to try some higher temperature rated fluid as well.

Cheers

no mustang has ever had a .hydraulic clutch sans the 2005. my 94 always had issues with the clutch pedal. i had the steeda adjustible crap and it would rub sometimes when pushing down and be smooth others. maybe ford should have given us a hydraulic clutch.

no its not the quadrant. I changed mine out to a steeda with firewall adjuster and their new quadrant spacer (no change). it gets a kinda squishing/binding feel after I take off hard. has done that since day 1.

one thing i havent replaced is the factory cable. I Havent been able to figure out why it only does it on those conditions and then goes away. maybe ford has a TSB for it. find out if anyone here has an after market clutch with factory quadrant and if they still notice it??

I DO have a aftermarket clutch.
I have a centerforce dual friction clutch. When I had the clutch first installed the pedal felt great....but after like 1,000 miles...I took off real fast and the pedal has been squishy....

I thought I was the only one that has had this problem!!!

My 98 GT did the same exact thing as my current 04. My 04 got slushy
a week after I bought it new. Nobody has a good explanation of why this happens or how to correct? Please help. This has been driving me crazy for 6 years!!!!!

Mine has done that since day 1. It only happens when trouncing the clutch pedal (ripping 2nd gear for example). After that the clutch pedal gets soft and doesn't engage in the same place, it still works fine, but feels weird. What I do is, I pull up on the clutch pedal with my left foot and then repress it to the floor (essentially adjusting it). When I do that, it is back to normal again.....Good luck finding an answer, I had a post about this a couple of years ago....

Ummm not sure on this, but I would maybe guess that it is getting hot, just like the brakes on a car get hot and fade.

I hate how the pedal feel is so inconsistant! Seems like I always have to adjust to it, and know where it grabs all over again.

I try putting my foot under the pedal and pushing up to adjust like they say....but nothing happens and I hear no click sound....I think i'm not able to MANUALLY able to adjust it....
