Hi guys,

I recently bought new wheels and along with the wheels I got 1 1/2"x20 lugnuts which I'm told are the norm for 2005 mustang gt. My problem is that these lugnuts are about 2-3mm too short. The online store I bought them from are refusing to send me longer lugnuts saying these are the right ones but as you can see in the picture(the blackened area is where the rim sits and lugnut is fully tightened)) I include they are far too short.

I dont want open ended nuts and I cant seem to find any 1 1/2x20 nuts that are longer..any lugnuts I find that are longer are metric and I dont believe will fit our cars.

I think it's my studs that are longer than original ones..previous owner must have had them installed.. I'm considering adding 5/16 spacers, open ended lugnuts or if i can find some closed ended nuts that are longer than the ones i have... Those gorilla ones are the same length as the ones I currently have so they wouldnt fit.

I just had my NAD wheels machined to pull the fat azz drag radials tighter under the car. I ended up with the same problem you have.

I'm going to cut the studs by spinning on a die (backwards of course, cutting the stud and then spinning off the die to assure the threads a set.

There are no longer splined lugs available, you either have to cut the studs, buy shorter studs, or run open lug nuts.
