My driver side door has a problem with the sensor. It some times doesn't read the door as being closed even though it obviously is. I tried playing with the door to see if it was an alignment problem but that doesn't seem to be the case... I took it to my mechanic and he told me it would probably cost 300 to fix, Parts and labor.

That sounds a little steep to me so i was wondering if anybody has had this problem before and can help me out. I feel like i could put that in myself.

Any insight or opinions would help. Thanks.

$300?!!!

Does the interior light stay on?
Spray the switch with some dielectric grease. WD40 is good. The switch is sticking.

My famous Mark 8 used to do that. Spraying some WD-40 solved it
