Fuggin animals. I was driving down a street with a 45 mph limit, i dont know what the ***** ran out in front of me, I think it was a dog or something. I ended up swerving and ramming my saleen up a curb. I destroyed my rims. I mean, the back rim is half gone, the front is all cracked. The side skirt is all banged up. The front fender is all banged up. I am freaking out right now. I dont know what to do. I'm afraid to claim it to my insurance company, I dont really want them to raise my rates. But then on the other hand, isnt that what the ***** we pay them thousands a year for. It was dark out when I did this, I ended up high centering my saleen on the curb. I dont even want to know if there is any other damage underneath the car. What else could have i screwed up underneath? What should I do? Does saleen still make rims and ground effects for a 2002 or do they still have any parts left over? I'm so depressed right now. I wish I didnt take out my car tonite. :(

Sorry to hear about it. That really makes for a downer. But hey, Saleen does still have body pieces and wheels for the 99-04 Saleen. Once you get it fixed, you will be back on happy trails using your high beams.

As for what else you could have destroyed in the crash, you don't want to know.

- A arms
- Frame
- Any suspension comp.

* Any accident you can walk away from is a good one. Don't worry, it's only money.

Wow i'm sorry to hear that but as far as suspension goes, frame, a arms, exhaust, and such but I believe that you should claim that becaue it's not your fault you didn't hit someone else therefore your insurance shouldn't go up. And yes they do make body parts straight from Saleen all you really have to do is call. Once again I'm sorry and I feel for ya

Thanks for the support guys. I decided to claim it. They will tow the car to a ford body shop that does Saleens tomorrow and I'll find out what all is wrong with it. What a depressing weekend it made. But, Hopefully it will back up in a few weeks.

One thing that concerns me which I think is a safety issue, The cheap ford leather seats (i didnt have the saleen/recaros). I think they are really unsuportive and kind of a safety hazzard. I didnt even realize until the next day, that I must have hit my hip and lower ribs on the door/arm rest pretty hard. I have some nice bruises and sore spots. Even though I was wearing my seatbelt, I still hit the door, Thinking about it, if there were some sort of sport seats in it, with side bolsters, I shouldnt even have moved. Also, the cheap non existent head rest on my 2002 makes me afraid. What if I would ever get rear ended? The way that anybody of normal body stature sits, you have to have the seat back reclined to make it comfortable. There is no head/neck support if you got in an accident. Your neck would pretty much break off. I am surprised that the DOT would even let these seats be put in a late model car. 2002 isnt a very old car, and I cant think of any cars that dont have nice large head rests, Even the cheapy of all car makers has nicer ones. I think when I get my car back, that might be my first new purchase.

Good luck with the insurance. Hope your car gets to be good as new!

On Track Performance has good deals on the Recaro Trend seats that Saleen used to sell. You can even get them in the dark grey leather similar to what they use. Their website is http://www.recaro-seats.com/ . Prepare to pay a pretty penny for them though!

I agree with you on the seat/headrest. I am 6'6" and the headrest issue really freaks me out.
