Need help with a problem on my wife's '95. Sometimes when the car is started it puts off a sweet, almost anti-freeze (though not quite), smell and the interior has a smoke or a haze. After a minute or two it goes away and no problems. This happens mostly after the car is sitting for awhile. We noticed it first after it sat for a week while we were on a trip.
Heater on/off, no difference. Windshield doesn't fog up or anything.
If you have any ideas, I'd love to here 'em. Thanks.
Was it just that time that it happend? Could something have made a nest somewhere in the car? Like near the cats or motor? Check your trans for small leaks. I had my trans drip onto my cats and make smoke? Especially if its a small drip, this will only happen if ti sits for a while so the fluid collects.
Are you losing any anti-freeze? If you smell anti-freeze in the car and there is a mist on the windows I would check the heater core, and the heater hoses where they attach. Chuck Z.
