You can have a muffler shop drill a hole in the pipe and weld a tube to the side to connect your smog tube. You will probably have to cut your smog tube and then use silicone hose to connect it to you pipe.

And to prove it the factory H pipe has 4 cats,only 2 of them are connected to the smog pump!!
theres nothing disconnected.The smog pump is pumping air through the hose still.My exhaust guy has the set up for the hose to the cats from a y pipe and says it will work.He just has to do some drilling and welding. They are magnaflow cats,they are a good cats.If there was a clogging problem if no smog pump was present,then they would have made hook ups for the cats!! The air injection from the A.I.R. pump does help keep the cats going, as well as in the catalyzation process (air doesnt magically appear in there).
Now I will say that I have yet to find definitive info about aftermarket cats. It seems to me that some are made more for oxygen depleted environments and might be less likely to deteriorate and/or allow full catalyzation.
Willys, I am not sure about your last comment. For those who are confused, the AIR pump flow is directed at the back of the heads to help light off the cats when the motor is cold. So if one is going to delete a flowpath, the one to the heads is the one to delete. I know you know that - I am just confused about the order of comments on this thread.
