I am new to this posting deal, so I hope I got it right. Anyways I removed the air pump, hoese, air valves and such that are on the passenger side of the engine bay. The pump's bearings went out, and was making all sorts of noise. I don't have cats anymore, so this system is useless in my view anyways. What should I do about the tube that runs to the back of the engine. It appears that it goes into the back of both cyl. heads. Any help would be great.

Just leave it no need to do anything with it at all. You can remove the entire thing if you can access the bolts in th back I beleive they are 1/2" and it will not do any harm

Thanks, I could hear a bit of noise coming from the check valve when I brought the rpms up. I'll probably just plug it with a cap, and call it good.

yea u should plug them with someting...some people cut off the ends which bolt onto the heads, flip them over and bolt them back on backwards so it blocks it off. maybe use a little rvt on them too.

I cut off the ends, flipped them around, put on some sealer, and bolted them back down. Just like the person above suggested.

If you go to an autoparts store -- the Heater Hose Caps in the Help! section are just about perfect for that.

You can also go to Ford and buy the inserts to block those holes in the back of the head up. I think they were like $4 for a pack. I use a bolt and sealer for mine. All the smog stuff gone really cleans up the engine bay.

You can do that as well. That would be ideal. With the carbon buildup inside the holes, it was impossible for me to do this. I cleaned as much as I could by hand and still had no luck. I went and got the right size bolts, cut them down a little shirter (length), sealer, and popped them in like above. They are hardly noticible and definitely better than having all the smog stuff.

Forgot about all the carbon build up, I had just had my heads machined so that wasn't an issue for me.

They sell thermactor plugs which "plug" up the hole where the smog equipment goes (the same thing works for the front of you heads...you can get them at a Ford Dealership - part # F4ZZ-6E086-A or you can buy some from Summitracing - part # TFS-51400265...when you put them in the front of your heads your alternator bolt and power steering stud will screw right in perfectly...when I first seen they were to big doing my h/c/i swap...I thought I put the heads on backwards
