OK, so i'm changing the plugs out today which i havent done in forever (since i got my 97 cobra) and i'm over on the passenger side on the final plug (the PITA one up by the firewall) and I'm wrenching down on it and "snap" i went to far and landed on the smog line. I broke the damn line which was dry rotted. I have no idea what this thing is. if you look at this picture at the top of page 3 http://www.allfordmustangs.com//techarticles/Smog2.pdf it's where he has the "manifold tubes" arrow pointing to.
Immediately to the right of the bolt there's a little black filter that has a tube coming off it into the black hose where the hose clamp goes. That part of the tube inside the hose broke off right at the little black thing (some sort of filter maybe). Is this something I need to plug/replace to drive the car? I'm going to go ahead and rip all this smog crap out because it's doing me nothing anyways. But until i get the time is it driveable with it busted off?
I hope this makes since.
Thanks!
