K, dart block 347, tfs head, srp piston, runs great, went to switch to synthetic 5w30 and have smoke on decel afterwords, only after warmed up though, plugs at rear of engine are oil wet, does not smoke in decel if pcv is out?

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

I think the G is missing from your thread title....

Ok, that is out of the way

Consult your engine builder about your oil choice, Depending on the bearing tolerance you will likely need to run a 15w40 or 20w50 weight oil. Leak down the motor and see where you are at there as well.

I was thinking thicker oil as well as this problem popped up after a switch to synthetic 5-30, but was previously running 10-30 with no issues, ran it quite hard this weekend to try and reproduce the issue and no avail, no smoke at all, even after a rev limiter launch, could too much oil cause this? I have a miloden 7 quart pan, put in eight all together this time, didn't smoke with 7 total?

Over filling the engine could absolutely cause it to smoke. Depending on the capacity of your filter you may have only needed 7 1/2 quarts total
