smoking in your mustang?

I don't do anything in the 02. Its not a show car but I wanna keep it nice. If I have a drink in there it has to be a bottle with a cap. I am the same with the no farting. The 95 I don't mind as much. I will haul food in it, but won't let anyone eat in there. Its a pile but I pay for that pile.

glad i generated a good discussion here. i dont smoke in the mustang but i do eat and drink in it. like someone else said, its a 100k mile bolt on car, not a complete workover like mansonozz or 25th... i will continue to eat and drink in it becasue i can be very careful and i easily sacrafice myself to catch that falling piece of katchup off my hot dogg. better on my pants then my seat.

If my car didn't already have 261k miles on it and have a half-stripped interior, I might be a bit more anal about things like that. However, being as it is, I used to regularly go out to my car on my lunch break and just sit there and eat my lunch in the comfortable seating of my notch, watching the cars pass by on the street outside. I'm no slob, of course, and I keep the inside dusted and squeaky as well as the outside, but the car's just not new enough for me to worry about things like crumbs and a few little dots of dried soda here and there that're easily cleaned up. Smoking, however, is and always shall be a complete no-no in any of my cars, no matter how much of a beater they might be - that stuff is such a PITA to get off the interior side of a windshield, it streaks and smears to no end, and it makes an interior smell like sweaty socks whenever it's damp and rainy outside.

I would have to admit, however, that I'd be tempted to give in to a "boobs for smoking privileges" deal... :D

I think I'd go for that one too:nice:

I used to eat my lunch in my car too. My sunroof has leaked for years (fixing now), so my seats are water stained, so my interior really isn't totally nice.

One time a friend put his foot on my dash to tie his shoe and I flipped. He just couldn't understand why it was uncool to put his foot on my dash. "It's not hurting anything," he said.

Like others, if I had a show car, I'd definitely go all out, but as it is, MansonOzz's blower is worth more than my 90 LX 5.0 Stang....:bang:

This guy at work spends $230 a month smoking!!! I drove a leased 2004 F150 FX4 fully loaded for $250 dollars a month with A-plan. I guess I could start smoking, and walk to where I have to go...for the same money!!!!!!! :rlaugh: :D :SNSign:

I HATE that "it's not hurting anything" BS. I would say "This car is 17 years old and didn't make it this long from people putting thier foot where they don't belong" If it's not such a good freind you could have said "No, but I'm going to hurt something"

Since I have been driving a semi and I am only home every three weeks, I have these people who want to borrow my vehicles saying "It won't hurt me just driving it every once and a while" Especially the camaro, I let one of those girls drive that thing for three weeks and I can promise that at a minimum the front clip will be missing when I get back.

I did smoke in the Mustang for one season. Of course the car has been off the road for 3 years now and is almost ready to see the street again. I will not be smoking in the car this time around. I do smoke in the jeep, I dont find it to be an issue of smell with the leather like a vehicle with cloth seats. Plus the 40 Coconut air fresheners I have in each vehicle at all time helps too :-) (The little pine tree shaped ones. I am addicted to those things, nothing better as far as air fresheners go)

yea im guilty of drinking and eating but not smoking since i never tried and dont plan to. only time my car sees smoke is when some jerk friend of mine thinks its ok to light a cig in my car with out even asking me first, i care but since the interior is pratically in pieces ill care much more once i got my new seats and carpet in

is svttech the only honest one ? lol, i know there is a lot more smokers out there! lol i have to try and quit i been recently stopped smoking cigs, but moved onto inhaling cigars!!

The only people interested in threads like this are non smokers. Plus any people that do still smoke these days cower in a corner about the habit they have..

I agree that is RUDE as hell to light up in somebody's car and I won't even light up in a restaurant where smoking is allowed, but some of these anit smoking people have gone to far.

Here is a example thats kind of funny.

About a month ago I had to ride the train to work for a few days and while I was waiting for the train right near a outdoor train station I light up.. So I am minding my own business smoking and out of this huge outdoor area nowhere near the train platform this young guy about 25 or so stands a few feet away and then coughs and complains about my smoke..

He had the nerve to say " do you mind putting that out" with one of those condescending tones

So I say " no, I am not going to put it out"

This idiot who walked up near me and did not need to be near me starts coughing and says it again..

So I tell him that he can walk away from me and the smoke won't bother him..

This moron stays right there and says " smoking is a disgusting habit and your hurting others with it"

Now I finally loose it and tell him that if he does not get the **** away from me I am going to knock all of his teeth out and put the cigarette out in his eye..

That finally did.. he walked away very quickly and stayed at the other side near the platform.

Now WHY would you walk up to a 295 pound man at 1 in the morning with nobody else around to save you and try to start a fight over a cigarette when you could have chose any place else to stand. This fool walked up to me he had no need to be near me.
