My pa drove the stang to work today to get the door put on and he said when he jumped on it in 3rd alot of smoke came out.. and it smoked like a freight train for a bit but leveled out.. didnt do it again. I have the FPR set at 41 lbs but thats with vaccum still hooked up.. can that make a difference in pressure?

the color is blue.. he said he smelt oil but he checked it and the oils full and clean.. coolant is full and didnt over flow (my overflow tank is off right now).. i JUST built the motor at the most.. 15 miles ago. he was thinking it was burning out the old stuff.. and this is the first time its ever been on the highway rolling about 70 since i bought it. I've hit it fairly hard before but that was for maybe 20 secs in the back parking lot of the shop and it didnt smoke. What could it be? Hasnt happened and didnt over heat or anything.. whats your input?

look around the headers to see if you see any burnt oil on them, what type gasket did you use on your valve covers? Cause mine did the same thing a while ago and it turned out to be oil dripping down onto the headers.

I dont think its your problem but you need to set the pressure with the vacuum line off. When you connect the line, the pressure drops ~5psi. You could be super rich and it is smoking but I doubt it. Oil could be leaking out of the lower intake or the valve covers.

How old is your Typhoon? Mine had a baffle, no smoke coming from my car.

Pull the inlet line on the TB. If you are getting oil in the intake you will see it dripping from the TB plate.
This is what mine looked like.

When the engine is run at low rpm for extended periods, more oil will build up in the intake making more smoke the next time you romp on it.

There are a couple of things that can cause it. Oil can be entering from the pcv, breather line (from TB/VC), and a gasket leak between the lower intake to head gasket. Check that the gasket did not slip down when you dropped the lower intak into place.
This is what mine looked like.
To check if oil is entering through the pcv or TB/VC hose, simply pull the hoses and see if the inside of the lines are wet with oil.
If it is entering through the pcv then make sure the baffles are in place. It is worth while to pull the intake for this. Also a seperator can be used to help collect the oil passing through the pcv before it enters the intake. If that still does not work then try putting a 1/8" restrictor between the pcv and seperator.
Also a restrictor can be used on the TB/VC line. This simply reduces the quantity of air passing through the crankcase/pcv system.
If possible don't use the restrictors, as it will limit how well contaminants can be purged from the crankcase.

Hope this helps
jason

thanks guys.. well my dad is ordering me the baffle that goes under the pcv for me on monday.. but the car hasnt done it yet.. 4k and it didnt smoke at all.. so ive come to the conclusion that it was old oil from the 86's crappy setup that was on it and it must have drained out the plenum... hasnt smoked a bit though I will tuff it out.. it has a couple dealer tag drives to the body shop so during those 8 mile runs i will romp a lil bit on it and see what happens.. ah well thanks for your help. Off to set the FPR lol
