Ok. I'm not sure how this is going to turn out. I know it will be different and I am pretty sure I will like it. I''ve taken all the pulleys off the Cobra (well the ones you can see anyway) and painted them silver to match my car and tomorrow I will be dipping them in a snake skin pattern. I'll post some pics when they are finished.........let me know what you think.

I think it could be a nice touch, or look like complete chit. So I'll wait for pictures.

Sounds cool, but will it hold up to engine heat?

Well they turned out nice but I still have the blower pulley left to do. So as soon as I get it done I'll post some pics.

Well, I must say I am pleased with the results. The pics of the pulleys off the car show them still taped up (they are hard to see other wise unless you are standing there looking at the motor). I haven't put the belt on yet or bolted em' up cause I'm waiting on the clear coat to fully dry. But I did sit them on there to get an idea of what they looked like. Let me know what you guys think of my work.

When you first posted up about doing it, I honestly thought it would look horrible. But I must admit, that looks badass. Good job!

Thanks guys. I really wanted to try this but was concerned it would be tacky. I am very pleased with the results.

D98GT the process is called Hydrographic Printing or Camo Dipping. It has many other names but it's basically transfering an image to a 3D object using polyvinyl film and a chemical activator by dipping the product in water. It's harder than it looks on you tube....LOL

Yeah it should hold up to the heat fine. I've painted Valve Covers before and they held up. I wouldn't do any headers though..lol

Sounds similar to a scale model decal, no?

Interesting - seen the process of how they do that on American Chopper once before IIRC.

Very slick - definitely unique and won't see many others replicating that at car shows IMHO...
