A big NAY if you ask me. I have never had any luck with those, always caused overheating, dead battery....just not worth the hassle for the little gain.

And I've had the complete opposite experience. Never had an issue. If you're looking to get every last bit of power out of it then do it.

Same here. Both cars have them but so will say I bought both sets used.

Valve job will run $640. Plus $240 for surfacing. That equals brand new heads. Looks like Im opening a Valve Job business ...

Current thought is a complete valve job on the GT40 heads. I will upgrade the valve springs as noted below. I will use other stock parts, though validate proper push rod length.

Reason being, Im trying to save at least some money on the stock rockers. What I really want to get out of this effort is knowing I did my first valve job correctly. I can run this for a while and then re-consider cam, lifters, rockers, injectors, etc.

I should also add I have one more machine shop to check out this week. Assuming labor prices out in MA here are prohibitive for these cast iron heads, ill look to get the tools as noted below and start having some fun learning how to do proper valve jobs. Maybe recondition these beautiful and old cast iron heads.

Kidding aside, the springs were $170, which leaves like ~$300 for the tools. That doesn't count the bench grinder (Ive been wanting one for a while).

Hands down DC Controls FK75. You can run the FK45 but I figured for the additional money the FK75 was insurance. Run them on both the Coupe and T-Bird on Mark VIII fans with zero issues.

In the past I have run or installed a handful of other controllers and straight relays with on off switches and the DC Controls units have just been way better. People bitch about how long it takes to get them and the customer service but that is usually over on the Corral so take that for what its worth...
