What do you guys think of this product? The Snow Boost Cooler, it says it lets you run full timing while using nitrous.....seems like it helps with turbo/s/c cars

anyone out there have this on your car?

any thoughts?

Methanol kits are not new. Check out www.alkycontrol.com. Usually don't see it run with nitrous or NA as the benefits are not as pronounced, but rather turbos and superchargers as the latent heat of vaporization pulls out a ton of detonation-causing heat. Not to mention that methanol has a high octane number. I'm sure it's worth a few horse N/A, or even with N20, but it's worth a ton of power on a blown engine. As long as the kit is progressive in control, with high pressure (to create a fine mist and minimize puddling), it'll be fine.

I have the Mr. Freeze kit and LOVE IT! Before I installed it, I was at 13 degrees with my non-intercooled setup. I am now at 19 degrees timing and gained over 60 HP for just 170 bucks.. The only downer is that you have to fill the tank up after every 30 seconds of WOT.

ok, i know its not a new idea but just not a widespread mod. thanks for the input.

well i know they are great for the s/c'd and turbo'd engines....i dont know much about NOS and i just thought since NOS was a form of FI that maybe it would help out a little. Plus i was looking more at the idea of being able to run full timing with a nitrous setup.

from what i hear when running nos you should pull a few * of timing to make sure that you dont kill your motor, due to detonation.... you think that it would really help with the timing degree?
if i'm wrong with anything i have said so far please correct me. More and more i am thinking about getting a nos kit and would like to/need to learn about this stuff so hey....

thanks for all the input so far guys....

I'm getting the Snow boost cooler stage II put on this Thursday in addition to a smaller pulley(9psi) and Retuning for premium and race fuel. I'll let you all know how it works out. Hopefully will have over 360 rwhp?.

I'm curious as to why anyone would run that with NA or N20? I've yet to see a 4.6 NA over 360-380rwhp. And I thought some guys use nitrous on blown motors to cool the intake temps...so wouldn't N20 and Snow be doing the same thing?

It is now my weekend car, but I still drive it to work every now and then. I wouldn't have a problem using it as a daily driver except for the fact that the gas mileage is considerably worse with the blower if you do a lot of city driving.

yeah i have heard that some guys use the NOS to cool the motor down.

but if you read what the snow website says (i know don't believe everything you hear) that it lets you run FULL timing will shooting large amounts of nitrous.

i'm just curious if there is any truth to this? cuse from what i have read, when using nitrous you really want to have teh correct timing....
