i have heard it both way. i heard that with a stiffer rear end the car will be be more apt to bust em loose since the car isnt "soaking" the power in.

i have also heard that they will increse traction on the street??

so what will be to toal effect of SFCs and control arms, i have some SFCs i need to install and will be getting U/L arms shortly.

so am i going to hook up on the street better or will it just spin them more?

this is a good question. What aftermarket ULCA's do is change the angle of you pinion. This helps with traction. If you get agjustable uppers you can set your pinion agle yourself and optimise the traction. They also help eliminate wheel hop which would also help in traction. The other thing to consider is what kinda tires you are running. These also have the largest play on traction. Looks like you have modded your 5.0L quite a bit factory rubber is no longer an option. Wieght transfer will also help you. softer springs up front to get the wieght of the car on the rear will help.

i am running 225/60/16s just some crappy rear tires.
i definatly have traction problems now.

hopefully the arms and some SFCs will help me out some. stiffen the car up and just overall help me.

also, i have heard of people swapping in 4cyl front springs into a 5liter car. and leaving the stock 5.0 rear spring, would this help??

ty for the input

As far as street tires go, honestly the cars i've driven that had uppers and lowers, it only got WORSE because the car actually puts more power to the ground without going through all the flex of the stock control arms. BUT, that just means you need slicks :D

Also most of those cars track a lot straighter when the tires are spinning and are easier to control at the edge. Maybe i should point out that the car in mention is a 347/3.73 car and it's not going to hook on the street one way or another with street tires.

yeah big difference in traction even w/ stock rubber.

i like hpm megabite jr's

you can even wait on the uppers, but they are pretty cheap and might as well do them while your in there. 50/50's out back and the 4-banger springs up front are a big help, while your doing the lca's pop an air bag in the right side coil and load it at about 8 psi they are about $30
