Ok simplist answer anyone can give .. i have a 1990 gt .. it will be lowered about 1.5 inches or less when spring gets here (eibach pro kit and some otehr components) ... will a 255/40/17 nitto 555 for a 17x9 cobra fit on my car all the way around (no combos 255's on every corner) without rubbing ... i think 90+ fenders are bigger but again im not sure ... it is also a four lug if that means anything .. if i absolutly have to ill go with 245/45's all the way but id like 255.... pleaseee helpppp P.S. anyone who has this setup or has tried this set up would be a great deal of help!!

91+ fenders are bigger... Hold on I got a picture

I had to change fenders on my old car to get them to fit lowered.

Good question and I've seen it come up before. Moving to Tech to make it searchable.

Depends on the backspacing... I've heard some guys say they pulled it off, but as for my car there was NO WAY it was happening without the fenders.

thanks dagger ... so my best bet seems like im gonna have to go with 245's cuz i really dont wanna replace the fenders. I am pretty sure 255's will fir in the rear .. but i dont want a combo .. i think its easier to just have the same size all the way around but now i dontknow .. i really want 255's in back

Mine were 245's

But, you'll really never know til you try. I think my buddy runs 235's but I'd have to ask him.

255's will definately fit the rear. But, they can get knocked up into the fender a tad on my 93 which isn't even lowered.

nah i have 235's now and they look HORRIBLE .. i was sso impatient when i got the rims i bought the cheapest pair i could just so i could get thme on the car ... if i only knew then what i know now ... the rim sticks out past the tire .. i know a 255 would fit perfectly and a 245 wouldnt be too bad ... but i geus thast what im stuck with ... anyone running combos .. the tires can never actually be rotated can they? .. Since the rears would wear faster than the fronts they would just have to be replaced more frequently ? .. or do i have this all wrong .. i know nothing about tire combos and tahst why i didnt wnaa do it .. but its better to learn i geuss, that way i can leave all my options open .. thanks to eveyone so far and keep the respnoces coming!!

No they can't be rotated if they're different sizes. Fronts always wear out on a muscle car faster anyway because they are front heavy.

245/45 don't completely fit the rim either I'd go wider than I have. Mine look like crap too
