@2000xp8

I can appreciate all foxes, yes. Have I seen a real Saleen in person? Yes. A few hundred, I'm sure. Do I care for GT cars or Saleens over LX cars? No...

Pass, thank you. And, there were statements made about the LX spoiler, hey, that's just personal taste. What each individual cares for. Personally, I think the Saleen spoiler is over the top. I've heard it compared to a cartoonish ice cream scoop.. but again, just an opinion. A lot were sold, and people still buy them. So who's right? Do what makes you happy. I like a clean car with no body kit. IMHO it beats the pants off of any GT, Saleen, whatever. However, ask for an opinion, don't get offended when you get one.

Who said I was offended? It's cool you don't like saleen's or gt's, your reasoning is a little weird, but i guess to each their own.
You ever see me pic whoring around here? Probably not, because i'm not much the guy that needs approval. If I really wanted to do this, I would have just done it.
I thought it was an interesting idea, that's about it. You just seem to be taking it a little more personal and serious. Besides I didn't ask for opinions on the way my car sits now, I asked what people thought about a restomodded stock bodied lx.

Ok, maybe I worded that incorrectly. My apologies. From what I've see of you as a Mustang enthusiast, I believe you and I are in two entirely different camps. That said, we share a common ground- A love of fox Mustangs. My back ground: I have been tearing into and overhauling engines for 30 years. Literally. My mindset has always been function over form. Go fast now, look good later when the money is there... I am finally getting to a point in life where I can have a car that looks great, and goes like stink..

From where I sit, It seems to me (I could be wrong, forgive me if I am..) you seem to me as a guy who is EXTREMELY concerned with appearances.. which is where we differ. Any way..

Not taking anything personally, I think the idea was great, mostly. A trimmed down car. Slick and powerful.. clean looks. What's not to like? Form over function. That's what an LX always has been.. NMRA guys don't use body kits to go fast. Just sayin.

You gotta realize, I have the terminator engine, a tko600, fully built rear, big brakes and a 3/4 done road race suspension (panhard bar still not on, I have it, just didn't do it yet).
Really isn't much left for me to mess with. The function has been long done for the most part. Some minor interior work left like a new carpet and a repaint that it doesn't exactly need, but I would like.
Pretty much every type of combo of parts, I've had. That goes for engine and suspension.
I also don't feel the need to have more than 500rwhp, although I could simply slap a whipple on and go up another 100. Right now it starts easy, runs great, ac blows cold, handles above average and stops hard, just don't think I need any more performance.
22 years of messing with the same car is a long time, so it's easy for me to ponder exterior changes, because I just have nothing else to think about.

I too often think about changing up my car, back to a N/A set up. coyote or even LSx

But I have gotten back into motorcycles since moving and spending my time with my Tuono and SM 610 and very litte time with the car.

When I initially joined this site I wanted a 9 sec car. After driving a 9 sec car(buddies 66 Chevelle) I realized how impractical it is. I believe a 500whp mustang is about the limit of reliable street manageability. I know people can and have done more aggressive builds that still maintain descent manners. Your restomoded LX idea is cool and I believe Boosted is basically building that example now(except an updated wheel/tire,which I agree with). I also would like to own every fox body example built in the heyday. I like them all. And isn't every gearheads goal to go fast while looking good?

Changing your wheels and your wing would drastically change your vehicle's appearance and you could always keep your old ones to throw back on.

I really liked my 10 holes but they had to go with 5 lug, Now Im rocking 17" SC's

I think wheels from the era of the car updated in size look really good as they were designed for the body style they're on.

Who wouldnt want TF tho.....

Saleen kit is cool. Personally the lines of my LX all painted one color and refreshed look really good.

Id love to see 17" 10 holes, Id use them and my SC's

It was the '80s. Pretty much everything intended to be sporty-looking during that time was a little over the top.

If you think the 80's were over the top, try going through the 70's

I see it now. A Vega has a better looking tail. The '70s and '80s were certainly not timeless in their respective styles.

But to put things back in order

I like this car. I like everything about it.

A stock appearing vehicle (whether it's an LX, or GT) regardless of what lurks underneath is just another Mustang in a sea of Mustangs.
Modifications done as tastefully as the one above gives the car a personality, and an individuality that sets it apart from the din while still strongly fitting in at the same time.

Why mess w/ a good thing?
