supposedly this is THE x-pipe to get.... so just as far as sound is concerned what makes it better than all the others? Does it still rasp? Is it deeper? There's no 4.6 clips on MustangExhaust unfortunately.

thats what T&J puts on all their high horsepower stangs, so im guessing it sounds killer. I have an o/r xpipe and flows and it sounds bad ass. nice and deep, and screams at WOT. not much rasp at all, but that might be the xpipe. this xpipe kicks ass! I get compliments all the time about the sound

How does it sound? In one word: Horny

Dr. Gas isn't raspy. Smooth tone throughout powerband. With Flows it's not horribly loud until you really get on it; then she screams
Sounds like an H-Pipe at idle, but then sounds more like a typical X higher in the RPM range. Smooth, more exotic, but still muscular sound.
It's different than the mainstream Xs due to the crossover being much further forward.
I've got the Dr. Gas paired up with A Flowmaster Force II catback(50 series/3 chamber). Good and quiet when taking it easy, loud as hell when you need it to be. The sound once you break 4k RPM makes you want to hoot and holler; a totally sick howl.

If you're considering going w/ Dr Gas and Flows; Do it. You won't regret it.

I have the Dr Gas/Flowmaster combo on my car and although it sounds great I prefer the sound of an h pipe over an x so I'm considering going to a prochamber or something of that nature.

I was amazed how deep the Dr. Gas sounds. It's pretty quiet on my car until I nail it.

I had the Dr Gas with the 2 chamber flows on the 99 with the 410s and it sounded better than most other mustangs around, even modded pushrod motors. You WILL be heard. But , unfortunately some punk bastards decided to steal my exhaust setup while staying at the casino and now I have wet dreams of still having that sound, man I miss it. You will love it, go for it

Damn... think i really want to get this thing now. Is it louder than a prochamber? Thats what I have now (with flows), sounds killer but I wish it were a bit louder.

Can you put on a dr gas x pipe with stock headers? I have a 98 gt automatic, and I am debating between dr gas and magnaflow x pipes...

I had the Dr. Gas X-pipe on my 98 GT. First it was with the MAC Flowpaths then with the Spintech Prostreets. The sound is different. It is quieter and has less rumble (smoother sound) then the traditional o/r H-pipe. To me this took away the sound of the V8 and also had clearance issues. The thing hung so low I would always scrape it on bumps and railroad crossings (lowered with Eibach Sportlines) Ended up going to a different exhaust set-up such as Bassani which I hated. Now I am back to the o/r H-pipe and MAC Flowpaths. Should of stuck with my first choice. Anyway the power difference was not there since I don't make any I still have the Dr. Gas X-pipe in my garage. Maybe one day when I make the power T&J cars do I will put it back on.

how did the Dr. Gas sound with the prostreets. Just curious because I have the prostreets on my car with a prochamber. That thing must have been deafening.....i know even with the prochamber those muffs are extremely loud.
